Through our services—including hands-on trainings and contract farming initiatives—we’ve directly impacted over 10,000 farmers across Zambia and trained more than 1,000 farmers online in Zambia and across Africa.
The 2021 Youth, Women, and Agriculture (YWA) Summit was a groundbreaking event dedicated to introducing Zambian youths and women to agriculture as a viable business opportunity. With over 100 enthusiastic participants and 10 prominent companies in attendance, the summit served as an inspiring platform for new farmers to explore the potential of agriculture beyond traditional farming. Through interactive sessions and expert-led discussions, attendees gained insights into making agriculture a profitable and sustainable career path. This summit marked an important step in empowering the next generation of Zambian agricultural entrepreneurs.
In 2022, Hematon played a pivotal role at the 2nd Youth, Women, and Agriculture Summit, focusing on empowering young people and women in agriculture. We introduced initiatives aimed at breaking down barriers to agricultural participation, with a strong emphasis on capacity building, access to resources, and hands-on training. Through networking sessions, we engaged directly with aspiring agricultural entrepreneurs, leaving them better equipped with practical knowledge and industry connections. This summit helped us extend our reach and impact across Zambia, inspiring over 300 participants representing all 10 provinces in Zambia and over 25 companies to see agriculture as a viable, profitable business.
Through both summits, Hematon has cemented its position as a catalyst for change, encouraging youths and women to transform agriculture in Zambia and beyond.
